Montino Coliving

Montino operates as a facilitated community with a community manager always on site, curating content and activities for residents. The space is designed to inspire creativity, foster connections, and provide all the comforts of home.

The founders believe connections are best when slowly brewed over time spent together, and that the best way to get to know someone is to share a space, both casually and intentionally: to make experiences together, and to trade knowledge about the things they care about. They believe in openness and inclusivity, that the chance to meet people different from oneself reveals how alike people really are, and opens the mind and the heart.

The community approach centers around bringing people together through regular events including skill-share nights, communal meals made in the shared kitchen, board games, hikes and excursions, Italian language and cooking classes, yoga, meditation and pilates classes. Residents are encouraged to bring their own content and ideas to share with the community, with everything and everyone being welcome.

The philosophy embraces "the freedom of living amidst nature and like-minded individuals" offering a unique opportunity to explore, grow, create, and connect. The facilitated community shows residents the local surroundings including food, wine and lovely nature, creating an environment where residents can quickly bond through shared dinners, yoga sessions, fun outings and communal activities.

Montino Coliving was co-founded in summer 2024 by Oren Chazan, Talya Stern, Guy Benron, Danit Chazan, and Eldad Givon (an owner from the founding until spring 2026), each coming from a background of love for community or hospitality, after years of different communities and friendships around the globe wanting to make a communal space of their own.

The search for the right place took two years, coming close to finding one in Portugal and then Spain, until landing on a sweet, small, family-run hotel with a yellow exterior, red roof, and green windows. The previous owners, Antonio and Géraldine, handed the place over as it was; the founders renovated it before opening but also inherited a professional kitchen that once belonged to the hotel's restaurant, guest rooms, a classic Italian espresso machine, tables and chairs, and more. Antonio and Géraldine stayed on to help the founders get to know the house, the area, and Italian business bureaucracy, and became dear Montino friends. The coliving officially opened in August 2024, born out of founder Oren Chazan's search for a sense of meaning after years traveling as a digital nomad and developing an interest in real estate.
