About Cactus Coliving - Tenerife Valle

Cactus Coliving in Tenerife offers a vibrant community of remote workers, digital nomads, and entrepreneurs from around the world. The house is a beautifully restored 300-year-old Canarian building with 2 modern workspaces, shared common areas, and a unique stone wine cellar. Located in a sunny valley near the mountains and beaches, it's perfect for both focused work and outdoor adventures.

Origin story

The Cactus House, one of the oldest in Southern Tenerife, has a storied past that shaped its transformation into a coliving space. It once operated as a gofio mill, supplying this essential ingredient for traditional Canarian cuisine and powering the village of Valle San Lorenzo. The wine cellar, now used for wine tasting, was originally a water reserve.

Over the years it has also served as a hostel and even a dance hall. In its most recent chapter before becoming Cactus Coliving, it was a cherished family home. This house has witnessed the island's transformation into the remarkable destination it is today, capturing the essence of its evolving history.

Community philosophy

The core value is to bring people together, offering a home-sharing concept where colivers connect through shared experiences. Residents have the chance to share interests, values and create bonds with other people with similar mindsets.

The community focuses on building genuine connections and long-term friendships - meeting people from all over the world coming from different backgrounds, cultures, jobs, and experiences. Daily activities, family dinners, and local experiences make it easy to connect and feel at home.

Cactus emphasizes sustainable living and provides authentic local experiences, practicing conscious living by supporting local communities, markets, and environmental initiatives. The space encourages exchange of ideas, knowledge and skills among colivers, as well as language and culture exchange through weekly family dinners where residents cook specialty dishes from their home countries.
