    About Ruralco

Ruralco is a rural coliving space nestled in the Spanish mountains near Culla, Castelló, offering a unique blend of community living and natural surroundings. Located in a traditional Spanish country house built in 2000, this 14-bedroom coliving accommodates up to 28 people and provides high-speed Wi-Fi, optimized workspaces, and farm-to-table freshness from local artisanal products and their own organic garden.

    Origin story

Oscar, who grew up in the area, initially set up the coliving community with two friends. While his friends ventured off abroad and into marriage, Oscar remained dedicated to the project and has since added his sister to help run the digital aspects of the business. Growing up locally, Oscar is well-connected and serves as the perfect person to blend the rural ways of nearby towns like Culla with the diverse needs of international guests staying at the casa rural.

    Community philosophy

Ruralco believes that life is richer when shared, building community through collaborative workspaces, communal meals, and genuine connections that enrich both professional and personal life. The space thrives on openness and inclusivity, welcoming people of all backgrounds and lifestyles to contribute to a warm, respectful atmosphere.

The community is built on three core values:

Connection with the self through nature - providing space to reflect, recharge, and reconnect with yourself in the quiet beauty of nature, where life slows down and the beauty of nature takes center stage.

Connection with others - where the ambitious and the lost, the dreamers and the pragmatists meet to share not just meals and chores, but ideas, new perspectives, and new opportunities in a journey that can only be understood by living it.

Opportunity to learn and grow - the rural coliving environment is curated for expansion, where living opens the door to new skills, cultures, and friendships, with many guests falling in love with the experience and returning again and again.

    Hosts

Oscar grew up in the area and is the owner of Ruralco. He initially set up the coliving community with two friends, but while they ventured off abroad and into marriage, he stuck with it and has since added his sister, who runs the emails and other digital corners of the job, to the staff. Growing up here, he is well-connected and seems the perfect person to blend the rural ways of nearby towns such as Culla, with the different needs of the people staying at his casa. The house was newly built in 2000, but constructed like a traditional Spanish country house. The 14 bedrooms can host up to 28 people. The windmill next door, a monument that needs fixing up, is also in his care.
