About FEM

FEM is a rural coliving and coworking space in the Catalan Pyrenees, just 1.5 hours from Barcelona. It offers 1-4 month stays combining accommodation and coworking in a rural environment, sharing daily life with people of similar interests in a creative and innovative atmosphere. FEM serves as a bridge between the urban and rural worlds, letting residents experience living and remote working in the Pyrenees without giving up their professional goals.

Origin story

FEM began as a life project that brought the founders to live in the Catalan Pyrenees, only 1:30h from Barcelona. From the very beginning, it has been in their DNA to work in "beta version": renovations to clean up and enable the space started already accompanied by the first residents coming from Barcelona, even when the house's conditions weren't yet ideal.

The project was born from deciding to put quality of life and the social impact generated at the center, while still advancing professionally — choosing the pace at which to live and sharing it with people in a similar moment who decided to take the same step.

FEM is meant as a bridge between the rural and urban worlds: life in nature teaches how to live actively but free of stress, "never stopping but never being in a hurry." It represents evolution, change, and courage — creating bonds, exchanging ideas, having a good time, and integrating nature and rural life into everyday routines.

Community philosophy

FEM prioritizes quality of life without renouncing professional development, believing that the balance between well-being and professional growth is possible. Coming to FEM helps experience this in an environment that inspires and boosts productivity — it's not just about disconnecting, but about trying out what it's like to telework, undertake, and live in direct contact with nature.

At FEM, residents don't just share space, but also a vision. It's an environment where real bonds are generated, experiences are shared, and cooperation is fostered among people with similar interests — an opportunity to grow alongside others while trying a new way of living and working.

FEM puts personal success before professional success, because when people feel good inside, one thing leads to another. Coming to FEM means joining a small but select family of brave, conscious, and capable people, able to imagine and walk toward the world they want to live in.

Activities at FEM aren't centered around consumption; instead there are activities close to nature, concerts, workshops, and many free community activities — reflecting the idea that "here, with less, you have more." The community also values local integration: going to the weekly market, buying directly from specific people rather than consuming for consumption's sake, generating real bonds with locals over time.
