Wonder House occupies a beautifully restored 14th-century Catalan masia (traditional stone farmhouse, with extensions through the 17th and 19th centuries) sitting at around 700m altitude inside Montseny Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1978 spanning roughly 300 square kilometres of oak, beech and chestnut forest across three counties. The closest village is Hostalric, in La Selva county, Girona province.
The park is home to wild boar, red squirrels, salamanders and breeding raptors including golden eagles, and building is heavily restricted, keeping the area quiet and undeveloped. Roads nearby are narrow and winding, shared more with cyclists and tractors than traffic.
