About Aulus Coliving

Aulus Coliving is a community-focused coliving space opening August 2026 in Aulus-les-Bains, a small village in the French Pyrenees, 2 hours south of Toulouse. With 9 ensuite rooms for 10–15 people, it offers a cosy, family-like atmosphere surrounded by mountains — a paradise for nature lovers who also need reliable fiber optic internet to work remotely.

Origin story

Edouard discovered the world of colivings five years ago while starting a more nomadic life and building an online business. The experience was transformative — he made great friendships and discovered many inspiring places along the way. That journey motivated him to create his own coliving and share it with others, leading to the founding of Aulus Coliving in the French Pyrenees.

Community philosophy

Aulus Coliving places a strong focus on building a stable and long-lasting community, rather than simply renting out rooms. The goal is for residents to create memories together and build long-lasting friendships.

Four family dinners per week (Monday to Thursday) bring everyone together over a meal — a nod to the French tradition of living to eat, not eating to live. Residents split into teams and take turns cooking, keeping things convivial and collaborative.

Once a week, a family meeting gathers everyone to plan shared activities — hikes, ski trips, restaurant outings, board game nights, skill-shares, and more. Residents are encouraged to propose activities and take initiative.

The coliving strives to find a good balance between personal time and communal living, so that everyone can feel safe, grow, share, learn, and have fun. Guests are vetted to ensure they fit within the community — which is considered good for both the individual and the group.

Aulus-les-Bains, 09140, France

Aulus-les-Bains is a small mountain village nestled in the Ariège department of the Occitanie region, in the French Pyrenees, at an altitude of 750 metres. Located at the head of the Garbet river valley, the village is surrounded by lush, forested mountains with peaks reaching up to 2,698 metres — a paradise for nature lovers, with fresh mountain air and birdsong as the backdrop to daily life.

The village is known for its thermal springs and spa complex, several Belle Époque buildings, and its proximity to the Guzet-Neige ski resort (20 minutes away). It is popular in winter for skiing and in summer for hiking and cycling. Iconic local landmarks include the Cascade d'Ars waterfall, a one-hour walk away, and challenging cycling climbs like the Col de Latrappe and Col d'Agnes, which start directly from the village.

While the village is small and somewhat remote — with a population of just over 130 — it has a charming and self-contained feel. The overall atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, with direct access to nature from the doorstep.
