    About Cloud Citadel

Cloud Citadel is a coliving space located in the UNESCO World Heritage citadel of Briançon, France's highest town at 1,326 meters above sea level in the heart of the French Alps.

The space is home to an international community of nature-loving digital nomads and remote workers, housed in a former military governor's residence built in 1823 with stunning mountain views and 300+ days of sunshine a year.

    Origin story

Jelena Banjac from Bosnia and Joé Veber from France, two millennials who had the chance to live and travel in various countries around the world, created Cloud Citadel after spending a couple of years in the traditional corporate world. They decided to shake their routine and build something new and exciting for their peers.

They created Cloud Citadel to bring together a community of like-minded people that value interaction and exchange, strongly believing that people are much richer together than alone. They hoped this initiative would foster experiences, creativity and human connections in the heart of the French Alps.

    Community philosophy

Cloud Citadel's philosophy centers on the belief that when people come together, magic happens. They recognize that everyone has their unique path in life, has been through a unique set of experiences and accumulated specific knowledge. When residents share time together, they get surprised, get smarter, laugh, cry, challenge themselves, learn from their mistakes, help each other, realize that they are all facing the same kind of issues, connect with each other, reconnect with themselves, and all of that enables them to blossom, each in their own beautiful way.

The community loves mountain activities because they ground people in the now, make them forget about everyday worries and reconnect them to nature. Cloud Citadel is a place where residents thrive at finding a healthy balance between what they have to do and what they want to do. Nature is never far and a quick bath in a forest of pine trees, where the water flows, the wind blows and the sun gently shines through the canopy, is the best remedy for a crowded mind.

The community operates through The Monday Family Meeting and The Saturday Family Dinner as the two most important events of the week. During the family meeting, they plan together the indoor and outdoor activities of the week. Everyone can suggest an activity and is free to join or not. This approach empowers colivers, places them at the center of the community and enables people to organize themselves workwise and free their schedule when there is an activity they want to participate in.
