About Cactus Coliving - Tenerife Adeje

Cactus Coliving Adeje is the newest Cactus location, set in a recently renovated traditional Canarian home in the sunny south of Tenerife. Designed for long-term stays (minimum 2 months), it's made for remote workers and digital nomads seeking deeper connection—with the island, local life, and a like-minded community. With only private rooms, shared spaces, 2 weekly yoga classes onsite, and access to all Cactus Coliving Valle activities, it offers a stable and intimate atmosphere.

Origin story

In 2025, after a year of paperwork and a lot of patience, a ruined house in María's favourite village, Adeje, was transformed into Cactus Coliving's third home.

The story began when a friend sent María a house listing in Adeje. She went to see it with her mum and Bartolo (the Cactus dog). The moment she walked in, she felt it: calm, warm, full of good energy. It was more than a house — it felt like the right place to build the next community. That day, she knew they'd found it.

Following the same philosophy that guided the first two Cactus locations — turning forgotten spaces into real homes for community living — the ruined house in Adeje was brought back to life, keeping its original Canarian charm while offering everything needed for long, meaningful stays.

Community philosophy

Cactus Coliving Adeje is built around the idea of slowing down and staying a while. The two-month minimum stay is intentional: longer stays give residents time to settle properly, focus on work without the stress of moving, and connect with people on a deeper level. The community bonds inside the house naturally become stronger, dinners feel more relaxed, and friendships have time to form.

The coliving avoids the constant flow of new arrivals, creating a more stable and intimate atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to plan dinners, brunches, BBQs, and social events as valued members of the community — these gatherings are organised by residents themselves.

Beyond the house, residents have full access to the activities and coworking spaces at Cactus Coliving El Valle, so the community can expand whenever desired. Shared activities include hikes, family dinners, yoga, skill sharing, and local experiences.

Sustainability and local impact are also core values: buying local and seasonal products, using repurposed and repaired furniture, and organising bimonthly beach or mountain clean-ups.

Adeje's town centre offers a full range of essentials — supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, gyms, shops, ATMs, and even an auditorium with regular cultural events. Volcanic landscapes with scenic hiking trails, including the famous Barranco del Infierno canyon, begin right at the edge of the village.

The south of Tenerife enjoys one of the island's most pleasant year-round climates, with temperatures consistently between 20°C and 27°C.
