This area once thrived as Aquae Calidae and later Thermopolis, visited by patients from across the Roman and Ottoman empires who believed in the healing power of the 41.5°C mineral water.
The property was originally created during communism in 1954 near the old Roman baths, consisting of 2 buildings and about 8000 square meters of park area. Its purpose was to provide healing and salutary rest for communist workers using mineral water. During the 1990s, the property closed and began to deteriorate.
