About Nomadico Coliving - Rio de Janeiro

Nomadico Rio de Janeiro — known as Pauline's Home — is an artsy, homey space full of upcycled character in the bohemian hilltop neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Set in a multi-floor historic house with a rooftop terrace, garden, and city views, it offers 10 private rooms and 1 shared room for nomads and travelers. The famous Selarón Steps are just 2 minutes from the front door.

Origin story

Pauline had been running her guesthouse in Santa Teresa for nearly 20 years — an artsy, sustainable space that feels like a living gallery, earning 145 glowing Google reviews and a 4.8 rating. When she was ready for a new chapter, Nomadico appeared at just the right time to co-create something special.

Nomadico itself was founded in October 2022 when CEO Bill Rutten fell in love with Madeira at a local guesthouse that had everything — except a community of nomads. The model was born: team up with local partners to turn underutilized spaces into vibrant coliving hubs. Rio de Janeiro, with its growing nomad community and no coliving to speak of, was a natural next step. Pauline's Home opened its doors on January 4th, 2026, becoming the first Nomadico coliving in Rio.

Community philosophy

The community in Rio finds its rhythm in the hills of Santa Teresa: creative, warm, and full of life. Mornings begin with coffee in the garden overlooking the city, and days flow between cowork sessions, hikes, or time by the beach. Evenings bring samba nights, slow dinners, and long chats under the trees before heading to Lapa.

Guided by an on-site community manager, each week is co-created with guests — a shared rhythm where everyone quickly feels safe, welcome, and part of a family. The philosophy is to build community with people, not for people, fostering meaningful connections and shared adventures.
