Vasco Morais spent ten years living in coliving and coworking spaces all over the world before founding Onda. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he traveled extensively and learned different languages, but a deep passion for Portuguese cuisine and culture eventually led him to make a permanent move to Portugal.
He fell in love with the charming region of Peniche for its wonderful community and amazing surfing, and decided to create the kind of coliving experience he had always valued — one centred on genuine community, adventure, and personal growth.
Onda Co-Living is set in Casais do Baleal, a small coastal hamlet on the isthmus connecting the Baleal island to the mainland, just north of Peniche in central-west Portugal. The area is renowned worldwide for its exceptional surf, with multiple breaks — including the famous Lagide and Baleal beach — visible directly from the property's wrap-around terrace.
