About Nomadico Coliving - Tarifa

Nomadico Tarifa is a seasonal coliving (November to March) spread across 2 homes with 19 private rooms in the old town of Tarifa, Spain's southernmost tip. Set against rooftop views of Gibraltar and Morocco, it blends wild nature, kitesurfing culture, and creative community energy — with fiber-optic WiFi, a dedicated coworking space, and a community manager keeping the rhythm alive.

Origin story

Nomadico was founded in October 2022 when Bill Rutten fell in love with Madeira at a local guesthouse — it had everything except a community of nomads, so he built one.

The model Nomadico developed teams up with local businesses, often outside of peak season, to turn underutilized spaces into vibrant colivings. In Tarifa, local partners Franny and Fenton run two beautiful homes in the heart of the old town. In summer they operate as hostels; in fall, winter, and spring, they transform into dedicated coliving homes for Nomadico and the occasional walk-in surfer guest.

Community philosophy

Nomadico's guiding principle is to build community with people, not for people. Core values are local impact, sustainability, and adventure.

In Tarifa, the community ethos is captured in the motto Mindful · Ocean · Nature: days move with the wind — slow mornings in the old town, walks through white streets to the coworking space, and sunsets that turn into community dinners. Between beaches, hikes, and impromptu dance nights, connection happens easily.

A community manager shapes each week with mindful moments, art sessions, or cold-water dips, while guests co-create the rhythm together. Weekly events are built around everyone's ideas, and all homes are connected as one community — spontaneous sunset and surf plans included.
