A coliving is a new way of living and belonging — It's a place where you can sleep, rest, work and live a lifestyle set on convenience, community, and comfort, where collaboration, open-mindedness and tolerance are key. At samesame, colivers live together in two buildings that are adjacent, share common areas, common values and similar journeys. However, we can host you in shared or private rooms/apartments.

What kind of community will I be coliving with?

A small community of like-minded souls from across the globe — digital nomads, remote workers, expats, and creatives on the move. United by shared values, bold dreams, and the desire to live life with purpose and connection.

How many bedrooms/private apartments are there?

We have 2 buildings. In the Madalena building, the second floor has 5 private rooms. On the fourth floor, there are 2 private apartments and 1 studio, and on the fifth floor, 1 studio. In the Beco building, we have 1 shared triple room, 5 private rooms, and 1 private apartment.

What are the shared spaces in the building?

Shared areas are all the areas outside your bedroom and bathroom. From the kitchen to the living room and any other corners you can find around the coliving. Except if you book a private apartment, then you don't have to share the kitchen and living room.

What is included in the monthly fee?

All bills are included in a single fee—covering rent, electricity, water, and Wi-Fi. This fee also includes regular cleaning of common areas, restocking of kitchen essentials, and replenishment of shared spaces. Room cleaning and linen changes are provided every 15 days. If you require additional cleaning before that, it is available for an extra fee of €40 per day. Please note that our laundromat is currently under improvement, so this service is temporarily unavailable.

How does the refund work?

If the refund request is made up to 90 days before the check-in date, you'll receive a full refund. If requested up to 30 days in advance, you'll receive a 50% refund. You'll always have the option to keep the full amount as credit for future stays within 1 year.

How does cleaning work in the space?

While we clean the common areas at least once a week, you are responsible for keeping them tidy and organized. We provide cleaning of your room or apartment every 15 days, along with fresh bed linens and towels. If you'd like an extra cleaning with linen change, the cost is €40. For linen and towel change only, the cost is €15. Cleaning supplies are available in all spaces for your personal use.

Which rooms have a work desk?

The rooms with a work desk are the Double Bed in a Premium Private Room, Double Bed in a Conceptual Private Room, and Twin Room. All private apartments have either a work desk or a dining table.

Is the coworking space included?

The coworking space offer one hot-desk with six seats reserved only for colivers and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. In case you want to rent a fixed paid spot, we have a special range of prices for the family members and the possibility to use the space 24/7.

Although we love pets, unfortunately we cannot host them as colivers unless you choose a private apartment for your stay.

Can I invite friends over?

You can invite friends if your housemates agree — we encourage our residents to host their own community events in any shared space. If your friend wants to sleep with you in the same room, it is always possible since your chosen room has a double bed, and we charge a 15€ fee per night.

What is considered a short stay?

At samesame, a short stay is any booking between 2 and 7 days.

If I need to work, is there a place where I can be productive?

All private apartments and studios include a table for both work and meals. In addition, we offer special rates for access to our coworking space.

Are pets allowed? (Short Stays)

Yes! We also love pets, and we are ready to host them. We charge an upfront fee of €100 to cover deep cleaning after your stay.

How does the refund work? (Short Stays)

If the refund request is made up to 30 days before the check-in date, you'll receive a full refund. If requested up to 15 days in advance, you'll receive a 50% refund. After that, no refund will be possible.

SameSame is a creative way of living located in Lisbon's Baixa neighborhood that values the sense of community and prioritizes interpersonal relationships. Origin story

SameSame was founded by a Portuguese team with a belief in the power of community. The coliving opened its doors in May of 2018 with a mission to bring together people from around the globe, offering a unique coliving experience that feels like a second home.

The founders created SameSame to spark a feeling of togetherness between people with different cultures, backgrounds and experiences by providing the environment conditions for a good life and enjoyable work. They designed the space to allow residents to immerse themselves in Portuguese culture, make surprising new connections, and enjoy a peaceful workspace.

SameSame consists of two old traditional buildings remodeled by a young Portuguese team of architects, designed to guarantee the best resting conditions for colivers. The space has been flourishing ever since its opening, expanding to include two buildings for coliving and short stays, a coworking space, and a new venue on the way.
