About KoHub

KoHub is a tropical coworking space on Koh Lanta, one of the most livable islands in southern Thailand. Established in 2014, it offers a welcoming, fun, and productive oasis for digital nomads and location independents, combining lightning-fast internet, a full restaurant and juice bar, a 1,500 sqm tropical garden, and all-inclusive coliving packages with private bungalows — all a short walk from the beach. In 2016, it was voted the 7th best coworking space in the world on Forbes.com, and 1st in all of Asia.

Origin story

Before KoHub opened in 2014, Koh Lanta was an undiscovered island for digital nomads. KoHub changed that, establishing an excellent productive space and friendly, family-like community for a new wave of travelling workers.

A pioneering community from the start, KoHub has continuously pushed forward, challenged convention, and experimented with what is possible in the nomad movement. In 2015, it first introduced the idea of coliving and coworking packages to the region — all-inclusive monthly packages that have been refined over the years to make it easy to relocate to the island with just a few quick emails.

KoHub has also always been committed to sustainability and eco-consciousness, with a long-term vision to become fully off-grid.

Community philosophy

KoHub believes its community embodies the values of innovation, curiosity, and openness, attracting "an interesting cross-section from all walks of life." The space fosters a family-style environment — warm, welcoming, and non-cliquey — where people from all ages and backgrounds feel at home.

Almost every day, social activities run on-site so members get a chance to meet each other, from communal lunches and coffee breaks to evening meals, sunset drinks, island trips, snorkelling and diving excursions, and cultural events. The community also explores the island together, with KoHub introducing members to local restaurants, bars, and activities.

KoHub is "very famous for its warm and welcoming community" and strives to make people feel at home on the island. The space is described by members as a place where "it is possible to arrive and instantly be surrounded by friends" — making that the norm rather than the exception.

Activities

Location

Long Beach (Phra-Ae), Koh Lanta, Krabi, Thailand

KoHub is situated on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta, off the southwestern coast of Thailand, in Krabi province. The space sits right next to Phra-Ae (Long Beach) — a 3 km-long swimming beach lightly dotted with bars and restaurants, and renowned as the best spot on the island for sunset. The surrounding area is quiet and relaxed, with reviewers consistently describing it as peaceful and calm.

Koh Lanta is a small, laid-back tropical island known for its chilled-out vibe, free from large chain restaurants and shopping malls. Unlike busier Thai islands, it retains a family-friendly and female-solo-traveler-friendly atmosphere. The nearest town is Saladan, a few kilometers north, which serves as the main arrival point for ferries and home to the largest grocery store on the island (Lanta Mart). The local area around Long Beach has small shops, restaurants, a pharmacy, and laundry services within close proximity. KoHub is located in the high-traffic zone of the island — active November to April — when bars, restaurants, and local markets come alive.

Getting around

  • Limited walkability
Beach is a 5-minute walk; local shops, pharmacy, restaurants and laundry nearby. Saladan town is several km away and requires transport.
Reviews: Guests consistently confirm the beach and nearby restaurants are easily walkable, with several noting the beach is under 10 minutes on foot.
  • Free parking
KoHub is accessible by private car and minibus, which drop visitors at the door. On-site parking appears to be available given the road-adjacent location and the fact that many members arrive by scooter or private vehicle. No specific fees or reservation requirements are mentioned.
