About Wild Seeds Ranch

Wild Seeds Ranch is a conscious coliving community located 45 minutes outside San Diego, CA, on 4 acres of forested desert oasis with a swimmable seasonal stream. It creates affordable, sustainable live/work space for ecopreneurs, creative professionals, artists & activists, and solar punks, offering guest stays, creative residencies, and event hosting alongside long-term residency.

Origin story

Wild Seeds Ranch grew out of a desire to build a place where community could be the best form of resistance in uncertain times. Founder Jordan, who also founded Mango (an international company that rescues electronic waste), started Wild Seeds as a home for people wanting to live collectively, sustainably, and creatively.

The ranch was built around the idea of creating affordable, sustainable live/work space for artists, creators, and builders of tomorrow — a place to step into one's most authentic self, whether by writing that book, starting that business, or blowtorching that sculpture. Over time it has grown into an inclusive community that embraces people of all backgrounds and body types, and now hosts a mix of long-term residents, seasonal residencies, guests, and events.

Community philosophy

Wild Seeds Ranch's inclusive community embraces people of all backgrounds, body types, and nonviolent self-expression, built around three pillars:

  • Creative Bravery — encouraging people to step up as their most authentic version of themselves and express that creativity, whether it's writing a book, starting a business, or blowtorching a sculpture.
  • Sustainable Living — caring about the earth's living systems and finding that more sustainable choices become possible when living collectively.
  • Learning Together — fostering mutual learning to nurture personal and professional growth, leveraging unique perspectives to empower one another to expand.

Community is considered the best form of resistance in uncertain times. Long-term residents are asked to contribute 12 hours per month towards community growth, helping keep the space affordable and acting as long-term guardians of it. Everybody wants to live with people they care about — the ranch curates a group of people who are fun and inspiring to be around, finding that community is not just financially and socially practical but also healing. Wild Seeds Ranch also works to build (and help others build) more communities all over the world, sharing resources for those committed to growing a movement of regenerative community projects in San Diego and worldwide.
