From Chania Airport (CHQ):

• By Car: Gerani is about 61 km from Chania Airport. The drive takes around 1 hour via the National Road (E75) towards Rethymno.
• By taxi: Taxis are available year-round. A direct ride to Gerani takes about 1 hour, and the fare is usually €60.
• By bus + taxi: From Chania Airport, take a taxi ride or the local airport bus to the Chania KTEL central bus station. From there, take the KTEL bus to Rethymno (ticket around €7–9 per person). Once in Rethymno, take a taxi to Gerani — usually around €20. The taxi ride takes about 10–15 minutes.

From Heraklion Airport (HER):

• By car: Gerani is around 90 km from Heraklion Airport. The drive takes about 1 hour 15 minutes via the National Road (E75) towards Rethymno.
• By taxi: The journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes, and fares are usually €90–95.
• By bus + taxi: Take the bus from Heraklion KTEL bus station to Rethymno (ticket around €7–11 per person). Then a taxi from the central bus station to Gerani (about €20). The taxi ride takes about 10–15 minutes.

Yes, we do recommend that you rent a car, as it will make your experience more enjoyable if you plan to explore the surrounding areas and visit attractions beyond the village. However, you can get around Gerani without a car — it's a small village, easy to get around on foot, with supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, and other essential shops within walking distance. If you are interested in renting a car, we highly recommend doing so at the airport, as there are no car rental services available in Gerani.

Greek Escape is located in the town of Gerani, which means you can move around easily and reach everything you need within a short walk or drive.

There are some restaurants less than 300m from Greek Escape, and you can reach them on foot in under 3 minutes.

The closest supermarket is about 100 m away from the villa, and you can walk there in around 5 minutes.

We highly recommend renting a car as it makes it much easier to explore the island, visit the nearby cities and go for hikes. Car rental can start from €25 per day or €350 per month.

The closest city to Greek Escape is Rethymno, just a 10-minute drive from Gerani. It's where you'll find plenty of supermarkets, shops, cafés, restaurants, nightlife, and all essential services, as well as the beautiful Old Town. Because it's a university city, Rethymno stays lively all year round — even in winter.

Chania is about 1 hour away by car. It's perfect for a day trip, especially if you want to explore the Venetian harbour, the lighthouse, the old town streets, or enjoy a long seaside dinner.

At Greek Escape, we provide high-speed internet, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and comfortable workspaces. Our goal is to ensure you have everything you need to live and work comfortably.

It depends on our bookings, which are always unpredictable. We have 30 bedrooms available, but the average group size can vary between 15-20 people. However, we can't guarantee that number as our occupancy can vary. Regardless, there will always be someone at home to live with, as our community manager is staying onsite.

Kids are so much fun to be around and have much to teach us. Unfortunately, we are not able to cater for them at Greek Escape due to limited space and facilities suitable for children.

Although we love our furry friends, pets are unfortunately not allowed at Greek Escape.

Greek Escape is composed of two villa complexes: Nevelo Villas and Aether Villas.

Nevelo Villas has 4 villas, each with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Aether Villas has 3 villas: one with 3 bedrooms, one with 4 bedrooms, and one with 7 bedrooms. All rooms in Aether have a private bathroom — some ensuite, some private but located outside the room.

While each villa has its own private entrance, they are all conveniently located next to each other.

Our kitchens are fully equipped including: microwave, oven, sandwich maker, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee machines (Nespresso and ground coffee).

We have a washing machine in each villa. Drying racks are shared.

Cleaning of the entire villa is done every week. If you're staying more than a week, you will receive new bed linen and towels each week.

Some double rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms. When booking, please read the room description to check if it includes an ensuite bathroom. If you choose to book the shared room or single room, you will be sharing a bathroom among a maximum of three people.

No, it has a single bed for one person only.

At the moment, it is not possible to heat the pools, so the temperature of the water depends on the outside weather.

We have an on-site community manager who welcomes all our guests. The Community manager co-creates events and activities for the guests, and yes, they are living in the house.

All villas have a Starlink connection and you get speeds up to 100 Mbps. Please be aware that the upload speed may fluctuate between 10 and 50 Mbps across most locations in Crete. We recommend considering this before you book your stay with us.

No, but all bedrooms have a dedicated desk and a chair to take calls from.

We offer a dedicated coworking area in one of the villas, furnished with large table, comfortable office chairs, and a 300Mbps Starlink Internet connection. From your desk, you can enjoy a stunning view of the pool and the olive groves. Furthermore, we provide desks in every room to accommodate private calls or work sessions.

We organize social and business events every week, based on what the people living in the coliving want the program to be.

Social events: Game night, Movie night, Greek dinners at local restaurants

Business events: Workshops, Open discussions & masterminds, Talks

Colivers are also welcomed to organize their own events like excursions, day hikes or night out.

During the winter season, there are several activities you can enjoy:

• Hiking trails: Thanks to the mild winter temperatures, it's the perfect time to go hiking all around Crete.
• Visit historical sites: Including Knossos, the Preveli Monastery and Rethymno.
• Cretan Cuisine: Many local specialties hard to find anywhere else.
• Peaceful beach walks: Swimming might not be suitable in winter, but the beaches offer great walks.
• Discover local villages: Experience traditional Cretan culture.

We don't believe in hidden fees when it comes to accommodation. So you get what you pay for. Remember the food and any excursions are on you.

We offer parking spaces located in front of the houses, with room to accommodate up to 5 cars comfortably. If our parking reaches its capacity, there is free parking available on the street.
