About Blue Paradise

Blue Paradise Coliving is a 7-room villa in the residential neighbourhood of Ifara, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, offering panoramic views of the city and the sea from its 600 m² of gardens and terraces. It combines tropical living with European-grade technology — featuring a modern coworking space, a garden with mango trees and hammocks, a fitness terrace, and a "Funny Cave" for events — all within a vibrant, health-focused community led by founder Selene.

Origin story

Selene, a Tenerife native, left the island at 18 to study and work across Germany, England, France, and Switzerland. During seven years living as a digital nomad, she always returned to Tenerife to escape the cold.

It was during a two-year stay in Switzerland that she discovered the magic of coliving — the sense of community and shared growth captivated her. This profound experience inspired her to bring the concept back to her roots. With the financial support of her father, she turned her dream into reality and opened Blue Paradise Coliving.

Community philosophy

Blue Paradise Coliving fosters a vibrant and connected community where residents share a healthy, balanced lifestyle and support one another's growth. The space is allergen-free and guided by a clear set of community values:

  • Healthy lifestyle: Eating nutritious, local food and participating in outdoor sports such as swimming, hiking, and cycling.
  • Smoke-free: No smoking inside the villa or in the garden.
  • Pet-free: No pets, to maintain an allergen-free environment.
  • No alcohol abuse: Strict guidelines on alcohol consumption.
  • Productivity: Quiet hours on weekdays to ensure a focused environment for remote workers.
  • Supportive community: Teamwork makes dreams come true — residents are there to support each other.

To uphold these values, management reserves the right of admission. The intimate scale of just 7 rooms ensures a welcoming, personalised experience where every guest feels at home.

Location

C. Rubens Marichal López, 51, 38004 Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Blue Paradise Coliving is situated in the Ifara residential neighborhood, perched on a hillside above Santa Cruz de Tenerife — the vibrant capital of Tenerife. The area offers panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean, with vistas extending as far as Gran Canaria on clear days.

Ifara is a quiet, residential district set apart from the bustle of the city center below. Guests describe it as a calm neighborhood on the hill — peaceful and largely free of noise, though the walk back up from downtown is notably steep. The nearest large public park (Parque García Sanabria) is about 15 minutes on foot, and there is an even larger park further up the hill suitable for barbecues.

The coliving is close to natural highlights: the Anaga Mountains — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — are easily accessible for hiking and cycling, and the famous Playa de las Teresitas (golden sand beach) is about 16 minutes by car or 36 minutes by bus. Santa Cruz itself offers a rich urban life with restaurants, bars, theaters, concerts, and cultural festivals.

Getting around

  • Limited walkability
Downtown Santa Cruz is 20 min downhill on foot; walking back is strenuous. No shops or restaurants nearby.
Reviews: Guests agree walking downhill to town is pleasant and easy, but the return uphill is notably tough. Most combine walking down with the bus or a taxi back up.
  • Bus stop nearby
The nearest bus stop is just 85–140 m from the coliving. Bus line 912 runs every 30 minutes during peak hours (every hour on Sundays).
Destinations: Santa Cruz city center, Parque García Sanabria, Playa de las Teresitas (36 min), Parque Marítimo César Manrique (13 min combined)
Reviews: Guests frequently praise the bus stop's proximity, with several describing it as just minutes from the front door. It's a popular choice for getting back uphill from downtown, often paired with walking down.
  • Local taxi
Taxis can be hailed or booked by phone. Approximately €7 from the city center to the coliving.
Destinations: Santa Cruz nightlife, city center restaurants and bars, Playa de las Teresitas
Reviews: One guest notes a 5-10 minute ride from the city center, making taxis a convenient fallback for getting back uphill after evenings out or when the bus isn't practical.
  • Car rental
Car rental agencies are available in Santa Cruz city center and at both Tenerife airports. The coliving provides a free private garage for residents with a car.
Destinations: Anaga Mountains (hiking trails), Playa de las Teresitas (16 min), Parque Marítimo César Manrique (13 min), beaches and mountain routes across the island
Reviews: Several guests mention managing perfectly well without a car, though some organised informal car shares for day trips. Those who did drive found it made island-wide exploration significantly easier.
  • Free parking
A free private garage is included for all coliving residents, providing a safe and convenient place to park a vehicle on-site.
