    About Co.404 Medellin

Co.404 Medellin is located in the vibrant Laureles neighborhood, voted as the best neighborhood in the world for digital nomads by Timeout.com. The coliving offers a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city, 7 private meeting booths with built-in lights and fans, and is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and everything needed within walking distance.

    Origin story

Co.404 emerged from three travelers who met in the hostel-verse while volunteering together. After dabbling in online work, Laurens, Jocelyn, and David decided to open their own hostel geared towards online workers. They had a vision of creating something that was so much more than just a co-living and co-working space and that's exactly what it became.

The founders are travelers first, remote workers second, and passionate about creating communities third. What started as a fun side gig quickly grew into a full blown passion project, transforming into what they describe as the #1 Community Coliving in Latin America since 2021.

    Community philosophy

Co.404 operates on a volunteer-driven community model where staff are travelers and nomads just like the guests, creating authentic connections rather than transactional relationships. The philosophy centers on being "family" - volunteers and hosts act as the extra sibling, cousin, or friend every guest hasn't yet met, sparking conversations over morning coffee and organizing impromptu activities.

The community believes in creating warm, inclusive vibes where guests are immediately added to community chats and introduced to the "little family." They emphasize that community really is the heartbeat of Co404, with the approach that if someone wants to add to the fun, they're encouraged to organize their own activities and invite others along.

Their core belief is that volunteers and community builders should be "the social glue that makes the magic happen" - turning simple stays into lifelong friendships through empathy, social spark, and genuine care for creating meaningful relationships among residents.

    Hosts

He left Belgium to travel in 2017 and never looked back. From picking cherries in Australia to starting his own travel clothing brand, Laurens has done it all. One consistent theme though is community building. He loves bringing people together and sharing stories. Don't try to tell him yours before his first cup of coffee though.

A female Mexican that has travelled the world, sadly they are kind of hard to come by. But we have one! Joss is also the creative brain of the 3. She has a keen eye for design and a clear vision of what she wants. Sometimes that's high end rustic furniture and sometimes that's drunk karaoke in a shady bar. The Latina is strong in this one and you'll love it!

Always up for anything and that's kind of how he went into this adventure as well. Let's start a co-living space, why not? A fun side gig that quickly grew into a full blown passion project. You would never expect it when you talk to him but he is actually our CFO. Depending on his mood that means Chief Financial Officer or Chief Fun Officer.
