About Froomies Coliving

Froomies is Cornwall's first co-living community, set on a peaceful 80-acre farm in Lostwithiel. A rural sanctuary blending co-living, co-working and wellness for remote workers and independent professionals, it offers flexible stays from 2 weeks to 3 months in 16 private rooms across a farmhouse and 6 cottages. Facilities include a heated indoor pool, hot tub, gym, co-working spaces, and resident farm animals — all within a friendly, supportive and creative community.

Origin story

After years of experience in startups, co-living and wellness practices, Zoë & Yello founded Froomies to bring their vision to life — a place where people can live, collaborate, and add a little extra joy to their daily routines.

The seeds were planted long before: Yello's first taste of community living came at boarding school in 1991, while Zoë built a career in corporate law in Canary Wharf. The two met at a party in London in 2010 and quickly became close friends. They shared a loft in a former dog-biscuit factory in East London, attended a transformational ayahuasca retreat in Peru, and co-produced Magical — a weekend camping festival for 1,000 people. It was around this time that they almost bought a water tower in St Albans for co-living, a dream that would later inspire Froomies.

In 2020, their decade-long friendship turned romantic, and they embarked on a four-year off-grid boating adventure on the UK's waterways. In 2023, they spent a winter pop-up co-living season at Selgars in Devon, learning from the founders' experience. Discovering the Blue Zones documentary in 2024 further shaped Froomies' emphasis on health and happiness.

After a year of searching, 35+ property viewings, and a five-month legal process, they secured a stunning 80-acre farm in Cornwall. Froomies officially opened on 14 February 2026 — the culmination of all of Zoë & Yello's experience, expertise, and a lifelong dream of building somewhere where friends can live close, share moments, swap skills, and support each other.

Community philosophy

At Froomies, the community is built around the idea of the "froomie" — someone who is both a friend and a roommate, cherished for being both an exceptional co-liver and a genuine companion.

The space is designed to offer a balance of you-time and social-time, with beautifully designed private rooms alongside vibrant shared spaces built for socialising, collaboration and wellness. Residents are encouraged to find their own sweet spot — somewhere to unwind, connect, and put themselves first — surrounded by stunning countryside and a supportive community that inspires and nourishes their best self.

Froomies welcomes dreamers, joy-seekers, creators, nature-lovers, go-getters, and those in moments of transition. It operates as a judgment-free hive-mind of creativity, giving residents the fuel and fire to get things moving. Community life unfolds through co-created activities, co-cooked veggie dinners, skill shares, masterminds, and morning wellness rituals — all of which happen quite naturally simply by spending time together.

The word that keeps coming up — both for the hosts and for residents — is expansion: social circles, skills, knowledge, and creativity all grow through shared living. Froomies is designed as a space to evolve, connect, and turn dreams into reality.
