About Maysou A Noste

Maysou A Noste is a rural coliving hub in the foothills of the Pyrenees, rooted in the rhythm of a tiny village of 180 people. It's a home for adventurous spirits and curious minds who believe life is better when shared — blending quiet solitude with warm community, shared meals, and meaningful conversations.

Origin story

Maysou A Noste was born from the vision of four very different founders — Lucile, David, Pol, and Héloise — who came together to build a space where those differences are celebrated rather than smoothed over. Their shared belief in the grounding power of daily rituals and the strength of community shaped a mission: to create a place where individuals can reconnect with the world and find clarity, inspiration, and purpose.

Rooted in a small village in the Béarn region at the foot of the Pyrenees, Maysou set out to act as a bridge between local and global — blending the local knowledge and traditions of the region with the diversity of its international residents, so that guests experience the Pyrenees not merely as visitors, but as participants in its culture.

Community philosophy

Maysou operates on the belief that life is better when shared. Community is at the heart of everything — not just offering a bed, but an invitation to experience life differently, one where shared meals, meaningful conversations, and collective growth are the norm.

Three pillars shape daily life:

  • Environment: Living close to nature, growing food, and cultivating sustainable habits in harmony with the rhythms of the village.
  • Community: Meaningful connection through sharing meals, projects, and daily life in ways that turn neighbors into friends.
  • Individual Growth: Workshops, wellness, and creative exchange create space for learning, accountability, and personal transformation.

Food is central to community life — cooking and eating together is part of the daily rhythm, with a simple opt-out system ensuring meals are shared by default, because food tastes better when everyone is around the table.

Respect and kindness guide life at Maysou. Tolerance and diversity are celebrated, and everyone is welcomed as they are, knowing that differences enrich the time shared together. The house is proudly multi-generational and family-friendly — from toddlers to grandparents, and the pets who come along — with everyone made to feel at home and cared for.

Maysou also bridges the local and the global through its associated non-profit, Aux Rencontres des Vallées, a "third place" that hosts an associative café open to villagers twice a week, yoga and Qi Gong classes, and events that bring residents and neighbors together to share knowledge and strengthen social bonds.
