About Casa Kandamy Coliving

Casa Kandamy is a wellness coliving retreat in Tobia, Colombia — 70 km from Bogotá — surrounded by lush landscapes, rivers, waterfalls, and forest trails. Designed for digital nomads and remote workers, it blends movement practice, nature, and community under one roof. The open-layout house features guadua architecture, a pool, coworking spaces with Starlink internet, and a dedicated movement training area, with meals, daily classes, and weekly activities included in every stay.

Origin story

Casa Kandamy was born from a convergence of childhood roots, professional disillusionment, and a transformative journey across the world.

Sebas grew up in Colombia, where the country's diverse natural and cultural ecosystems formed his backyard. Feeling a deep responsibility to care for this territory, he carried it with him when he left to study at the University of Central Florida, graduating with a Bachelor's in Sport and Exercise Science. Intending to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, he instead encountered a medical system more concerned with profit than patient well-being — one where patients barely knew how to move their own bodies. Heavily disappointed, he turned elsewhere.

This search led him to the work of Ido Portal and his Movement Culture philosophy, which sent him all the way to Australia in 2019. For nearly three years, he traveled the country nomadically — surfing, learning, and training with the best movement teachers and spaces he could find.

Through these experiences, he arrived at a clear conclusion: what truly shapes a person's well-being is their environment — the spaces they inhabit, the people around them, and the resources they can access. Most people, he observed, are trapped in toxic environments that inhibit movement, disconnect them from others, and offer heavily processed food that destroys body, mind, and nature.

In 2022, he returned to Colombia without a plan — and found himself in a beautiful family house passed down through generations, in a warm climate that incentivizes movement, in a culturally and environmentally rich space. In 2024, Casa Kandamy was born: an environment intentionally designed to incentivize movement and stillness, community living, quality sleep and food, and plentiful access to nature — making it one of the few movement-oriented colivings that promotes overall well-being.

Community philosophy

Casa Kandamy's philosophy is rooted in the belief that environment shapes behavior — that the spaces, people, and resources surrounding you profoundly influence how you live and the decisions you make. The coliving is designed to answer a set of essential questions: Does your environment incentivize movement? Does it allow stillness? Does it cultivate a community of like-minded individuals? Does it give access to nutritious food, quality sleep, and Mother Nature?

The community gathers around six pillars of well-being: Movement, Stillness, Community, Nutrition, Sleep, and Nature. Rather than treating these as separate pursuits, Casa Kandamy weaves them into a shared daily rhythm — morning movement classes, shared meals, hikes, and weekly activities that keep life productive, social, and fun.

The synergy between movement, nature, and community is at the heart of the experience. It's the daily practice of movement that enables residents to engage fully with the land, and it's the understanding and care for the land that nourishes the body to keep moving. Days at the permaculture farm, shared campesino breakfasts, and group hikes on the Camino Real are all expressions of this interconnected vision.

Casa Kandamy also pushes back against the modern tendency to enclose life indoors. The goal is to give people tools, experiences, and an environment that expand what their bodies can do, break beyond a rigid mold, and reconnect with their natural capacity to move — whether through structured classes, play and partner work, breathwork, or simply connecting with nature for inspiration.
