Sicily Excursions

Host Marco regularly organizes weekend adventures and outings across Sicily, taking guests to beaches, sightseeing spots, and hidden gems that would be hard to discover independently.

Local Integration

Weekly Thursday community dinners and social events deliberately mix coliving guests with local Palermitans and expats, creating authentic cross-cultural connections that go well beyond a typical guest-only coliving bubble.

Historic Architecture

The coliving is housed in a 19th-century Palermitan building featuring characteristically high, frescoed and painted ceilings that give rooms a distinctly grand, old-world atmosphere blended with modern comforts.

Garden Villa

A second coliving location offers a villa with a lush Mediterranean garden of lemon, orange, and avocado trees, providing a tranquil outdoor living and working oasis close to the sea.

About Beet Community

BeetCommunity claims to be the first coliving in Italy, located in the heart of Palermo, Sicily. It offers coliving, coworking, and community experiences for digital nomads, freelancers, remote workers, creatives, and entrepreneurs from around the world. Spaces blend historical charm with modern design — including a historic villa across from the Botanical Garden — and are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and authentic connections.

Origin story

BeetCommunity was born from the idea and desire to create a community of people and professionals in Palermo — a city that wraps you in its history, scents, and ancient culture. The founding team describes themselves as a group of young professionals with extensive experience in the digital sector, blending cutting-edge technical know-how with a people-focused mindset rooted in cooperation and the exchange of ideas. After intensive training in Italy and abroad, they chose to return to where their roots are, planting seeds in the city they love.

Recognising that Palermo lacked a space where professionals could both live and work under the same roof, they created the first coliving in Sicily. Beyond the coliving, they also launched a cohousing project called CoHabitat, believing their spaces create a "favorable habitat for everyone who loves to share and collaborate."

Community philosophy

BeetCommunity is built around the conviction that shared experiences create lasting bonds. The community welcomes digital nomads, remote workers, creatives, and entrepreneurs who seek a supportive environment that fosters collaboration and innovation.

Members — called Beeters — are invited to become part of the BeetFamily: a global network of like-minded individuals who value cooperation, the exchange of ideas, and a shared vision of sustainable living. The community organises a variety of events, retreats, and activities — from potlucks and cultural outings to workshops and day trips — designed to help members connect deeply with one another and with the local culture.

The philosophy centres on the integration of living and working: spaces are designed so that even the simplest moment can turn into an opportunity for connection and inspiration. The goal is to ensure that members feel not just at home, but part of something unique — a community where a sense of belonging, connection, and acceptance accompany them every day.

BeetCommunity has two locations in central Palermo, Sicily's vibrant capital. The Liberty Town House (Via Agrigento 14) sits in the elegant Liberty district, steps from Viale della Libertà—one of the city's main boulevards—while the Botanical Garden property (Via Lincoln 35/A) is positioned directly across from Palermo's iconic Orto Botanico, a lush green landmark in the heart of the city.

The surrounding area blends historic charm with everyday urban life. The Cathedral, the Royal Palace with its Palatine Chapel, and the colorful street markets of Vucciria and Ballarò are all within walking distance, as are cafes, restaurants, and shops.
