    About Sende

Sende is a rural coworking and coliving space in northern Spain, located in a 20-inhabitant village in Galicia. Mountain houses with offices and gardens where visitors can stay and work on their projects while enjoying the company of curious people, homemade food, and supportive ambiance. Probably the oldest rural coliving space in the world, more than 4000 persons from 60+ countries have stayed in their village.

    Origin story

In late 2011, Edo co-founded the first HUB in the Balkans, an innovative coworking space for high school students. Back in 2012, María and Edo came up with the idea to build a world house in a village, where they would host their friends while working on something creative. The story of Sende begins in November 2013 with the works on the first stone house. After six months of hard work during the day while thinking about what story to tell to the world about Sende, their project was born in July 2014. A year later, they started hosting people from different parts of the world. They brought forgotten houses in a small village back to life, converted abandoned barns into inspiring spaces and filled every corner with flowers and inspiration.

    Community philosophy

Sende fosters community spirit by sharing food and meals, trips and hikes. Every night they enjoy long dinners - the moment when everyone gathers after the working day, replacing people from Zoom calls with real people and keyboards with gourmet meals. Dinners are collaborative, slow, funny, and under the wine shade. The space creates an environment where visitors become change-makers of their communities and find an ideal place to create, meet deadlines, and build new projects. They organize different events using coliving as a tool to work on conflict transformation, cultural events, entrepreneurship, and group building. The approach emphasizes creating meaningful relationships through shared experiences in nature, collaborative cooking, and supportive work environments.

    Hosts

I am a social educator and artisan. I lead educational programs and seminars in Sende. Before Sende, I was working as an organiser of youth camps for children and I worked in prison education in Argentina. Interested in crafts, colours and world cuisine. In Sende, I'm in charge of onboarding, programs, and logistics.

I'm Edo. A social entrepreneur living in a daily contrast between Galician nature and the future of internet. Interested in borders, maps and world conflicts. Teaching about how we can use entrepreneurship to live in any village with internet connection. In late 2011 Edo co-founded the first HUB in the Balkans, an innovative coworking space for high school students.
